정경자 작가는 일본 여성대학에서 공부한 후 1970년 파리 ‘드 라 그랑드 쇼미에르 아카데미’에 입학하며 파리에 거주하기 시작했습니다.
30여 년 동안 주로 일본과 프랑스에서 활동을 이어갔으며, 1990년대 중반에 한국으로 돌아와 양평군에 정경자 미술관과 아틀리에를 설립하고 50년 가까운 세월 동안 활발한 작업을 이어갔습니다.
정경자 문화재단은 지역 개발을 위한 다양한 활동을 통해 지역 사회의 소외된 사람들과 청소년들을 지원하고 있습니다.

예술적이고 음악적인 요소들을 세심하게 계획하고 배열하는 과정을 통해 그림을 '시각을 위한 음악'으로 표현하고, 그 그림들이 불협화음 없이 우아한 상태에 도달할 수 있도록 합니다.
이 작품들을 통해 저는 관객들이 상상의 영역을 넘어서는 꿈의 세계로 빠져들게 하여 시인의 마음이나 음악가의 감성을 품을 수 있도록 유도하는 ‘색채의 마법사’가 되기를 바랍니다.

Artist Chung kyung-ja studied at Japan Women's University and began living in Paris by entering the Paris Academy ‘De la Grande Chaumière’ in 1970.
She has mainly worked in Japan and France for over 30 years. She returned to Korea in the mid-1990s, settled in Yangpyeong-gun, and established the Chung Kyung-ja Art Museum and atelier, where she continued her active work for nearly 50 years.
The Chung kyung-ja Cultural Foundation has been striving for regional development through various sharing activities for local underprivileged people and youth.

The magician of color. It can be said to be a sentence that expresses who she is.
Through the process of carefully planning and arranging artistic and musical elements, we aim to express
paintings as ‘music for sight’ so that they can reach a state of elegance without any moment of dissonance.
